Icon Placement is displayed by zero, one or many Stem
Stem displays zero or one Icon Placement
Depending on the notation, a Stem Position can be decorated with an icon on the root, vine, both of its ends or neither.
In the case of a to state Stem Position with xUML notation, we will show a hollow arrow head at the root (node face) end of the Stem Position.
But in the case of a to initial state Stem Position, also with xUML notation, there is a solid dot icon on the vine end, and a hollow arrow on the root end. Thus for the pairing of an Icon Placement and a Stem we have two distinct instances of Stem Icon, one for each end.
There can be at most two instances of Stem Icon for any Icon Placement, Stem pair as described in the Stem Icon class description.
On a class diagram with xUML notation, the class face Stem Position is denoted with text like 1..* with no graphical (icon) notation.
