Observations
GLOS obtains near-realtime data from data providers (PIs) as XML files either through FTP pushes to our data store or in some cases we will extract or scrape data from the provider site.
Observations from a subset of the near real-time sensors streaming into the OBS DB are streamed in turn into netCDF files stored in the THREDDS/TDS catalog. These files drive the data in our GLOS Data Portal as well as the initial version of the GLOS Western Lake Erie Basin [HABs Data Portal[(http://habs.glos.us/map/), a rapidly-deployed specialized portal that is architected around netCDF data.

Buoy and fixed station (e.g., HABs sondes, meteorological stations) observational data is made available

- in our Observations (Obs) database (SQL)
- to end users via our GLOS Data Portal
- to end users via our Great Lakes Buoys product

In-situ Water Temperature MTRI provides annual data from their two Keweenaw thermistor strings (North Keweenaw Waterway and South Keweenaw Waterway). Data is provided on TDS and accessible through the GLOS Data Portal.
