Hey, I'm Stepan

Software engineer in Tallinn, Estonia. I like building things at the edges — where software meets hardware, where AI meets the real world, and where the answer to "but why?" is "because it'd be cool."

What I'm into

Autonomous systems — I spend most of my time making drones think for themselves. Simulation platforms with hot-swappable AI brains, deterministic safety layers that no neural network can override, monocular navigation through urban terrain using nothing but a single camera and some math. No GPS, no LiDAR — just computer vision, depth estimation, and a healthy respect for the safety envelope. I also dabble in multi-drone swarm control with command center UIs that may or may not be inspired by StarCraft.

AI + hardware — I like giving AI a body. I've built things like a 1930s rotary phone that becomes a time machine when you pick up the handset — dial a year, talk to an era-specific personality, get music from that decade. 14 hand-crafted AI personas, real voice synthesis, real hardware, real Spotify. Also: computer vision for security monitoring, video intelligence systems, and generative AI tooling that turns natural language into production web apps.

Creative automation — Bots that scrape secondhand markets, use vision AI to identify valuable items down to specific paint variations, calculate ROI after fees and your own hourly effort rate, and ping you only when it's worth getting off the couch. Tools that turn travel descriptions into interactive maps. Infrastructure that lets teams share AI model environments without stepping on each other's toes.

  • Game Stream Nexus — Cloud game streaming on AWS GameLift Streams. Submit a build, get a streaming link.
  • ComfyUI Golden Image — Multi-user ComfyUI infra. One admin curates the environment, everyone else gets instant read-only access.
  • Vector Map Creator — Vector map maker with D3.js. Zero dependencies, just open the HTML.
  • ccphoto — Bridge your phone camera to Claude Code over local network.
