🟦 NEPECON – Center for Studies and Research in Accounting and Socio-Environmental Sustainability (University of Brasília)

NEPECON is a research and extension center at the University of Brasília (UnB) dedicated to advancing applied studies in accounting, sustainability, public governance, socio-environmental management, and innovation in public policy.

Our mission is to produce scientific knowledge, support evidence-based policymaking, and train professionals capable of integrating economic evaluation, social impacts, climate governance, and accountability.

Key initiatives include:

  • AGIR – Automation for Intelligent and Responsible Governance, focused on RPA solutions for governance and integrity in the public sector.
  • Research and metrics on carbon accounting and decarbonization, aligned with IFRS S1, IFRS S2, GHG Protocol, and CBPS 02.
  • Studies on ESG in the public sector, climate-related financial disclosure, transparency, and institutional integrity.
  • Extension programs promoting social auditing, sustainability education, and citizen engagement.

NEPECON brings together researchers, students, and institutional partners from Brazil and abroad, fostering an interdisciplinary and evidence-oriented approach to contemporary challenges in transparency, climate reporting, sustainable finance, and public sector governance.
