DeFacto: Indonesian Legal Documentation and Information

Background

Government communication is the delivery of ideas, programs, and ideas from the government to the community in order to achieve the country's goals. Misinformation and miscommunication related to legal products are still found between the people, especially in Indonesia. So the making of this project was carried out on the basis of building a system and means of validating effective legal products to overcome misinformation. This comes with simplification of the legal documents, which will help people to easily understand the context without reading all the document content. Our group agreed to implement this problem in order to become a facilitator for the government and society to advance the government system in Indonesia.

Technology Used

• Android : Made in Android Native (Kotlin language), using MVVM pattern. Fetching data from API of legal products using Retrofit. The application plan to use TFLite model for documents simplification.
• Machine Learning : Text summarization model with seq2seq architecture using TensorFlow. Train model using dataset from IndoSum.
• Cloud Computing : Create API for user and legal document using ExpressJs and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), consume API using Android Application.
