Proposing a new "Developer Guides" page about Makefiles.
Switching between lightdash and dbt commands can be quite cumbersome for both humans and ai agents. Sometimes they are executed from different subfolders, repeatedly adding certain parameters etc.
Having a Makefile not only serves as a tool to have shorter commands, but it also serves as documentation how things are supposed to be run inside a project. This can be widely different in different repos, but that's why this should only serve as inspiration and not as a 1 size fit all.
Ai agents also seem to be immediately spotting a Makefile and taking it into account:
