Workdog will be ported to 1.18.2, 1.19.2, and 1.20.1 immediately (ETA end of 2024 or beginning of 2025). Older versions will not be supported. Fabric will not be supported. Neoforge and 1.21+ is to be determined (most likely yes, but aforementioned versions are the first goal).
Dogs and wolf puppies can be tamed with raw meats, adult wolves cannot be tamed.
Female dogs will go into heat after a timer, male dogs will automatically breed with nearby in-heat dogs, and typically result in a pregnancy that will last 72000 ticks by default. All breeding timers are configurable except the male cooldown, which is 5 minutes.
By default, puppies will grow up in 72000 ticks. This is configurable.
Should be. If not, will be fixed. (Let us know.)
Aside from the typical sitting mechanic, you can use a Stick to cycle through follow, work, and wander modes.
Currently you will need to pick them up in a crate and read the item's tooltip; OR, if you name the dog, you can sneak to see their correlated timers above their name tag as long as they are not sterile/infertile.
Yes!
Mixed breeding only results in a 50/50 between parents' simulated genetics, which includes a 30% each chance for each parent's breed + coat type, then the remaining 20% can be "carried" coat colors from either parent's breed.
A quote from fisk concerning actual mixed breeds: "we haven't implemented mix breeds and don't plan on it. i don't believe in mix/crossbreeding healthy dogs in general and i don't want to get into the designer/mutt/shelter propaganda type stuff... or the assets required to achieve simply cats-type genetics, lol."
There is no in-game way to do this as of now; however, all the timers are configurable.
Not yet! However, you can dye the leather equipment just like leather armor. ;) Have fun!
