zettelvault helps you organize your Obsidian notes by turning your vault into a structured system following PARA (Projects, Areas, Resources, Archives) and Zettelkasten methods. It uses DSPy and RLM tools to automate this process.
If you want a tidy and connected note system but have trouble sorting files manually, zettelvault does the work for you. It keeps your notes easy to find and use.
To run zettelvault on Windows smoothly, you need:
- Windows 10 or newer
- Minimum 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended)
- At least 200 MB free disk space
- Obsidian installed with your vault ready
- Internet connection to download the software
You will download the software from the GitHub page linked below. The page contains the latest version of zettelvault ready for Windows.

- Click the big green "Code" button on the GitHub page or the download badge above.
- Select "Releases" or find the latest release link under the releases section.
- Find the Windows installer file. It usually ends with
.exe. - Click on the
.exefile to download it to your computer. - Once downloaded, open the file to start the installation.
- Follow the installer steps. Choose where to install and allow permissions if Windows asks.
- After installation, find zettelvault in your start menu and open it.
Once installed, here is how to use zettelvault to organize your Obsidian vault:
- Open zettelvault from the start menu.
- You will see a prompt asking for the location of your Obsidian vault folder.
- Click "Browse" and find your vault folder on your computer.
- Confirm the folder and start the process.
- zettelvault will scan your vault, create PARA folders, and reorganize notes following Zettelkasten rules.
- You can monitor progress on the screen.
- When finished, open your Obsidian app to see the new structure.
Do not close zettelvault until it finishes organizing your vault.
