Here is a proposal of what could become the orientation page on how to use charts, with a couple of options open for debate. Before considering more visuals and making the tables more appealing, I'd like to check with you if this is going in the right direction.
Option A -- reflects the decision tree that Giovanni started in this Figma, but it doesn't cover all the available charts.
Option B -- offers hints on "when to use what" and lists all the available charts.

@alaudazzi the decision tree from Gio doesn't translate well to the table format. I would say we either keep the decsion tree or if we need the table, then we move to your Option B. But Option B is a bit difficult to consume, I guess we are adding some examples with images.

The decision tree might not fit into a doc page, that's why I opted for a table format (option B). If there are better options, I'm open to them :-)

Yeah 👍 we can definitely enhance the content with more visuals, while still considering navigation and readability.

I agree that the tables lose valuable information when compared to the figma. We unfortunately can't display the figma flowchart as is, but I think we have a few options here:

• We have some png/svg flow charts in our docs, for example: https://www.elastic.co/docs/solutions/observability/apm/apm-server/setup#_help_me_decide.
• We could potentially recreate the flow through links to various headings on the page.
• We could use the diagram directive to embed, for example, a mermaid flowchart.
