Statement of Purpose / Goals of Project

The functional goal of the project is to reduce the number of remotes required, and have the "luxury" feature of being able to control home theater devices from any networked computer.

However, as can bee seen on the project resources page, this idea is not unique. People have done plenty of similar projects before. In fact, in the Arduino Cookbook, several of the basic projects could be combined to create almost the entirety of this project. Therefore, the purposes of this are more educational that functional. It is almost entirely for personal enrichment. :-)

  • Issue Tracking
  • Milestones
  • Source Code Version Control (forks, branches, releases)
• Learn about different IR protocols
• Learn about building web-based android apps --- creating application layouts based on info received from a website, rather than a hard-coded layout.
• Learn variations in web-page hosting

  • on a home PC
