The AVlabs AV-RK MK I, the Redox Styled Split Mechanical Keyboard
Because I love keyboards god dang it! Also, I built a while ago a REAL redox, by MattDB, with gateron blues. After quite a bit of use, it starts showing its age, and its shortcomings. I wanted to design my own version, and add my own shitty ideas in the mix!
To be completely honest, the way the switch grid is layout is almost identical to the redox, as I took measurements from my current redox, which I find pretty comfy. BUT LOOK IT HAS TINY WINDOWS TO SEE THE TINY ELECTRONICS!!!!!!!!
Also, It uses the more modern low profile Kailh Choc Robins (yeah I'm a clicky guy) switches. Something that blows my mind is that the Cherry MX switch standard dates back from 1983, it's almost 40 years old....
Cherry switches are great, but here is the deal:

heeeeell yeah, shopping done on splitkb.com for the keycaps/switches and amazon for the rest!
| the good shit | amount needed | price |
|---|---|---|
| Kaihl Choc Robins | 110 (yeah i'm a baller, extras are gud) | 74,67€ |
| Transparent Keycaps | 100 | 41.96€ |
| White 1u keycaps, for modifiers/symbols/numpad | 70 | 34.64€ |
| White 2u keycaps for numpad | 4 | 3.58€ |
| Arduino pro micro (yeah, it's a triple 32u4 board) | 3 | 38.97€ |
| Smol 20cm USB micro b cable | 3 | 3.60€ |
| that cool aluminium usb c converter | 3 | 28.2€ |
| And add a 20 for a spool of filament, whatever material you want, I prefer ABS as a superior Voron owner (/s) | ||
| and yeah, thats probably 230€ worth of parts but fuck, you only live once. |
