Summersweet Software is a software organization based in the state of Maryland. We are dedicated to creating quality software and libraries for consumer and developer use.
The primary language we use so far is Python3. It is planned to soon use HTML, CSS, Typescript, and many more languages.
We strive to not needlessly shove AI into our products. We especially wont just shove LLM slop into our products. This includes limiting contributor use of AI generated code. We want to ensure most of our code is human made. Development is passion driven- not AI generated slop.
AI will only ever be added if it is necessary to solve worth-while problems. We won't use it to jump on a hype-train.
Our code is written for passion and love for the craft. We do not just do things to pump out content. Libraries we make will be of the highest quality we believe we are capable of at the time of development. We aren't just putting stuff out there for profit and exposure. We do what we do because we love it. Blood, sweat, and tears should only be devoted to the things that we love.
For all of our open source projects we will strive to take community feedback into consideration. This does not mean we will let the community dictate or bloat our projects past their initial scope. This would be a failing of our organization to keep its own goals in mind.
Our projects should not "implode" when we stop supporting them. When development stops- the product should still work. The consumer should never be screwed over by our decision to stop support. The functionality that we have should still work and continue to work. We need to create products that are self-sufficient. This means limiting the use of external services that cannot be self-hosted. Consumers should always have options to continue using the products we create- even if we stop existing.
