ACVD fails using .obj format as input

Dear authors,

when I run python src/main.py task=bodex func=procto process the 48c8f3176fbe7b37384368499a680cf1.obj, I get the following error:

Failure! Task: 2-mesh_change_format, obj: 48c8f3176fbe7b37384368499a680cf1.obj 
...
miniconda3/envs/meshproc1/lib/python3.10/site-packages/trimesh/exchange/ply.py", line 472, in _parse_header
    raise ValueError("Not a ply file!")
ValueError: Not a ply file!

This seems similar to the issue :valette/ACVD#11

Have you seen a similar case? I’d appreciate any guidance on how to resolve it.

I haven’t encountered this issue before — the example mesh files have always worked fine on my machine (Ubuntu 20.04). It’s possible that the problem is related to your system setup.

Could you check whether ACVD is installed correctly? Also, have you made any modifications to the config files? These could affect the processing pipeline.
