Interactive Geospatial Conflict Observatory
Documenting the armed conflict in Western Sahara since the ceasefire breakdown of 13 November 2020.


About the Project

The Western Sahara War Archive is a Digital Humanities research project hosted at the Centro de Estudos Africanos da Universidade do Porto (CEAUP). It provides an open-access, academically rigorous platform for researchers, analysts, and the public to understand the operational dynamics and human impact of this protracted conflict.

Data

All event data is contained in data/Matrix_Database_2020_2024.csv.
Usage is formally authorized by the Sahrawi Press Service (SPS). Authorization document available in /docs/.


Installation

pip install -r requirements.txt
streamlit run app.py
