Open source powers our mission, accelerating research, fostering collaboration, and enabling data-driven innovation at scale in smart data ecosystems. In this context, Fraunhofer ISST contributes to and collaborates on a wide range of open source projects across research and industry.
Our open source activities include our own dedicated projects such as:
- Innamark: A digital watermarking library to protect text data
- DIVA: A scalable data management system with an AI-powered profiling and metadata enrichment
We are also happy to contribute to various open source projects, while having committers and contributors in projects under the Eclipse Foundation. Examples of external projects we are involved in:
- Eclipse Dataspace Components (EDC): An Eclipse project providing sovereign data sharing and connector-based data space integrations
- Eclipse Dataspace Protocol (DSP): An Eclipse project providing standardized protocols for interoperable data space communication
- Eclipse Decentralized Claims Protocol (DCP): An Eclipse project providing standardized protocols for conveying organizational identities
- Predictive Unit Real-Time Information Service (PURIS): A short-term demand and capacity management system, part of the Eclipse Tractus-X project
- OpenFactoryTwin (OFacT): A tool to autogenerate digital twins from company data and enhance decision-making in production and logistics systems
- Project Construct-X: Various reference implementations for a data space in the construction industry
