I'm Hlib Ishchenko, a Computer Science student, builder of strange ideas, and a certified overthinkerโข when it comes to UX, bugs, and creative solutions.
"I don't just build software โ I design systems that think, adapt, and sometimes misbehave (for testing purposes)."
๐ MY CURRENT MISSION: REALINDUSTRY
I am currently a solo developer & publisher of a deep factory automation simulator. This isn't just a game; it's a massive technical experiment in web-based game dev.
๐ฅ WISHLIST REALINDUSTRY ON STEAM โ Support is highly appreciated!
A multi-disciplinary CS student who thinks like a product strategist, codes like a frontender, debugs like a QA lead, and dreams like a mad scientist. I specialize in turning abstract ideas into interactive systems, while accidentally discovering edge cases most devs never meet.
I don't chase frameworks โ I chase understanding. I don't just ship โ I test, break, rebuild, polish, and then question the entire premise again.
- Frontend:
React,Vite,JS,HTML/CSS, rapid prototyping - Desktop:
Electronโ packaging web apps into real desktop applications - Backend: familiar with
Go, experienced withPython,MongoDB, a bit ofSQL - AI & CV: custom neural nets in Python, basic computer vision stuff
- Graph / Data Viz:
Dagre,ReactFlow,Rechartsโ complex node graphs, recipe trees, live charts - Animation & UI:
Framer Motion,react-pageflipโ cinematic transitions, book-flip interfaces - i18n:
i18nextโ full multi-language support across 6 languages - Tools:
Git,GitHub,draw.io,Final Cut Pro,Photoshop,Premiere,Word (unfortunately) - Game Dev / Modding: created complex Lua + Python addons like
StormworksConnect - Deploy: Cloudflare Pages โ custom game websites from scratch
- AI Tooling: generative art, AI voice acting, and prompt engineering at a level that makes LLMs nervous ๐ค
- I prototype ideas obsessively, whether it's a web tool, data visualizer, or a ridiculous game mechanic
- I test products like I'm preparing them for the International Space Station
- I explore where software meets human behavior โ especially UI/UX edge cases
- I question defaults. Always.
- I build projects that are never small and never "just CRUD"
- ... aaand I love breaking things more than coding them sometimes. Sorry not sorry ๐
๐ฎ Currently building: Realindustry
An industrial colony management game set in the year 2187. You are the Director of an off-world industrial colony, building production chains from Stone Age tools all the way to hyperdrive engines โ while uncovering a corporate conspiracy along the way.
This is a solo indie game project I'm developing from zero โ and it's probably the most complex thing I've ever built:
- โ๏ธ React + Electron โ runs as a real desktop game, not just a website
- ๐ Full crafting & recipe system with dependency graph visualization (
Dagre,ReactFlow) - ๐ฌ Multi-tier research tree โ dozens of technologies with unlock chains
- ๐ญ 50+ buildings, hundreds of resources, complex production balancing
- ๐บ๏ธ Lore-rich narrative โ opening cinematic, tutorial with voiced NPCs, hidden Registry system, story ending
- ๐ Achievement system with 5 rarity tiers, award organizations, and secret unlocks
- ๐พ Full save/load system with UUID-based slots
- ๐ Statistics, Resource Monitor, Inventory, Almanac โ proper game UIs
- ๐ Localized into 8 languages: English, Ukrainian, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Simplified Chinese
- ๐ต Original soundtrack with an in-game Jukebox
- ๐๏ธ AI-generated voice acting โ trained, prompted, and directed entirely by me
- ๐ผ๏ธ AI-generated game art โ all visual assets crafted with AI tools + manual polish
- ๐ฌ Self-produced trailers โ shot, edited, and published (Final Cut Pro)
- ๐ Custom game website deployed on Cloudflare Pages
- ๐ Steam publishing pipeline โ store page, descriptions, screenshots, marketing posts
โญ If this sounds interesting โ any support, wishlist, or star means the world to a solo dev.
- ๐ฌ Published 2 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals:
- ๐ ๏ธ 2 software author certificates
- ๐น YouTube channel โ 2k+ subs mostly from 10 nerdy videos about neural nets
- ๐ Repositories with organic attention โ one has 20+ โญ
- ๐ฎ Shipped a Stormworks plugin bridging real hardware inputs into a game world, fusing Python, Lua, and a bit of madness
- ๐ค Mastered AI-assisted development: generative art pipelines, AI voice direction, and prompt engineering at an embarrassingly high level
"Programming is not typing code. It's encoding thought into structured abstraction that survives reality."
Not a "job". A mission:
- Help envision, design, and validate products
- Test assumptions before they become bugs
- Work with people who love quality, creativity, and user empathy
- Possibly wear many hats, and occasionally question the shape of the hat itself ๐ฉ
- CS student, 4th year
- Strong frontend + solid backend instincts
- Building a solo indie game with a full production pipeline
- 2 international papers, 2 software certificates
- 8-language localization, Electron desktop packaging, graph-based UIs
- AI art + AI voice + trailer editing โ full creative stack
- Always testing, thinking, breaking, rebuilding
- Love weird bugs, hate repetitive UIs
- Can explain async rendering to a cat
- Want to help build something clever, useful, and non-boring
"I don't always push to main โ but when I do, it's tested, validated, and probably has a hidden easter egg."
โ Not a rockstar developer, but might debug one.
