v 1.1.8 on MacOS Decoding & Cursor Bugs

Hey Web!,
Firstly thank you for such an excellent starting point and amazing app.

1.1.7 worked well on MacOS with small glitch of cursor not showing on videos. 1.1.8 is unable to save recordings properly giving error attached in screenshot. With cursor still being an issue. I hope this isn't me being silly with a permission missing somewhere but I've checked mostly everywhere I think.

Have just cloned in so will see if I can spot anything but just noting here.

I'm hitting the same issue on macOS 26 (Apple Silicon) with v1.1.8.

Root cause appears to be a filename mismatch. The error references a recording file that doesn't exist, but the actual file on disk has a slightly different timestamp in the name:

• Error says: recording-1774801383361.mp4
• Actual file: recording-1774803883361.mp4

The recording itself is valid — ffprobe confirms it's a proper h264 MP4 (3024x1898, ~9s, 3352 kb/s). So the recording succeeds, but the app tries to open it with the wrong filename.

Looks like a race condition where the timestamp used for the filename is generated at a different moment than when the file is actually written.

Environment:

• macOS 26, Apple Silicon (MacBook Pro)
• Recordly v1.1.8
• FFmpeg 8.1 (Homebrew)
• Recordings dir: ~/Library/Application Support/Recordly/recordings/

Holy Crap Web you are fast. I just PR'd a fix that worked for me locally last night on M1 Mac Air. Will test this out now.

Thanks @webadderall yes the hotfix got my recordly up and running again.

The decoding thing was solved, but the cursor is missing on my recording, its invisible though. While the json file for the cursor is available at the recording folder.

if its useful, check the PR i just pushed at #139 ....I think its still the finalizeStoredVideo function because persistPendingCursorTelemetry was called after validateRecordedVideo.

Seems to show cursor in on my side.

The system audio is not recording or being picked up while recording.

I dont know if its me, my mic is not also being recorded.

All the settings from the system settings are enabled for Recordly.

Mouse cursor shows up on the editor when the "show cursor" is on
