What happened?
When syncing a Google Calendar to WeDance using an iCal link, several issues occur:
- Not all events are successfully synced.
- Some events are rejected.
- Synced events do not appear in search results when searching by city.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Add a Google Calendar to WeDance using an iCal link.
- Check if all events from the calendar are synced to WeDance.
- Try searching for the synced events by city.
Actual Result:
- Some events do not sync at all.
- Some events are rejected without clear feedback.
- No synced events appear in search results when searching by city.
Expected Result:
- All valid dance-related events should sync properly.
- Events should be searchable by city.
- If an event is rejected, a clear reason should be provided.
Additional Notes:
- The system currently checks event descriptions against a predefined list of whitelisted words (e.g., "salsa," "bachata," etc.).
- It is unclear whether events should also be accepted based on keywords in the title.
- Consider verifying whether newly suggested keywords (e.g., "West Coast Swing," "Lindy Hop," etc.) are correctly handled.
- Ensure that the search function properly indexes and retrieves newly synced events.
