making things work with jdk 1.8

I checked out the code did a mvn eclipse:eclipse and imported the project into a workspace. Now 
Running into this with eclipse, 
Unbound classpath container: 'JRE System Library [JavaSE-1.6]' in project 'taming-text'
is it possible to build the bits with 1.8?
