Stay put with 50% probability?

Hi!  Thanks for your work.  Do you understand why the paper advocate flipping a coin and staying put with probability 1/2 (i.e. line 58 in in your code)?  It doesn't seem to be necessary for detailed balance and certainly slows things down by a factor of 2.
