Can you measure simplicity with Cyclomatic Complexity?

We can measure at least one form/aspect/marker of complexity, which is just the inverse of complexity (isn't it?):

The biggest problem I see in achieving simplicity is the complexity fetish that many developers have.  This seems to come from some sort of masochism, machoism, ego or maybe just an enjoyment of complex things and puzzles.
