Registry edits don't enable ACPI after installation

• I have searched the issue tracker and was unable to find an open or closed issue matching what I'm seeing.
• (If the issue occurs AFTER or DURING Windows 9x's hardware detection phase) I have tried to install with Skip legacy non-PnP hardware detection phase to [OFF] and the issue still occurs.
• (If the issue occurs AFTER or DURING Windows 9x's hardware detection phase) I have tried to install with the integrated driver library set to [OFF] and the issue still occurs.
• I understand that support is provided voluntarily for free, and that the author is not Microsoft and can/will probably not fix bugs in the operating system code itself. I also understand that it is impossible to support every single hardware combination out there.

What happened?

The registry edits mentioned in these two websites don't work for enabling ACPI. I've done this registry hack before and it's always worked when I done so, so my assumption is that something in quickinstall is entirely breaking ACPI support, not just the fact that quickinstall cant enable it.

Windows ME should install with ACPI on this laptop as I've done before, and not even ME will detect it. The same registry hack didn't work on ME either,

I would like to clarify my horrible writing, what I meant to say is that stock ME install media will automatically install with ACPI on this machine, and that installing ME with quick-install breaks ACPI on ME too.

what do you mean by "ACPI doesnt work", i need some more detailed info than that

also - is there something in particular you need acpi for?

What I mean is that the registry edits don't enable ACPI. When ACPI is enabled, the computer will detect a ton of ACPI devices and install them. The reason I need ACPI is that without it, I don't have any indication of my battery level, and I only know when to plug in when the LED indicator is flashing red at the last minute. (I remember it's supposed to be a device called "ACPI battery" or something like that in the device manager)

Can you go enable the ACPI key and then run the NUKE script in the extras folder?

Sorry for the late response, I was busy with school. I tried running the NUKE script after adding that value in the registry, but no ACPI devices were detected afterwards.
