[HELP (Not Launching/ Crashing)] After the newest update not launching.

After today's update Zwift isn't launching. The error as below.

I have a couple of questions for you

• Are you using WINE_EXPERIMENTAL_WAYLAND=1?
• We just updated some stuff, including installing libegl1 in the container. If update again, does it work now?

Yes, I am, but I tried without it too.

I updated it and now it dies immediately after copying blobs. With debug=1 I don't see any additional output in a terminal.

Try also setting ZWIFT_FG=1, that will start the container in the foreground, so the console won't close and you can see the output of what's happening.

Is it possible you only updated the container image, not the zwift script? The changes that we pushed today require you to update both. Do you have DONT_CHECK=1 set to skip updating the script? If not, it should ask if you want to update the script when launching zwift (if you ignore the question it defaults to no after 5 seconds, so you should type y).

It would also be interesting to show the output of starting zwift with DRYRUN=1. That does not actually launch zwift, but instead shows the environment variables and exact command it would use.

Indeed. I updated the script and it opens, but I'm getting again that opengl error and this output from terminal.
With dryrun=1 I don't see anything.

@netbrain When I build the image locally everything works fine. But the netbrain/zwift image still does not include the libegl1 library even though the dockerfile was updated. I think maybe the image did not actually rebuild when that PR was merged and it only updated the scripts in it? It only ran https://github.com/netbrain/zwift/actions/runs/21961649553, which does not check if the Dockerfile is changed. It only updates the scripts in the image.

Now it works, but for the first time Wayland support is broken on my computer (I can see one blue pixel in the centre of my screen). Also I'm getting quite often a prompt - Zwift is not responding (when it takes it a bit longer to do sth) and it's also the first time I experience this and I'm using Zwift in a container for a long time.

Yes but that would also mean that every update would cause a full image redownload for everyone that uses this project, which is not very economical bandwidth wise. So that's why we have a schedule instead on this (i think is every 3 months) .

The update workflow will instead of rebuilding the entire image, simply append a new layer on top of the existing one, so a new update to zwift contains only the changes/diff from the previous state. The reason we have a full rebuild at all, is because diffing state also becomes wasteful over time (not bandwidth wise, but storage wise), as we append more and more layers, the image tends to grow. So it's a good idea to have a new base image from time to time.

• Could you provide the output of setting DEBUG=1 and ZWIFT_FG=1 when you use wayland?
• The output of DRYRUN=1 would also help (if you run DRYRUN=1 zwift in a terminal window, it won't close before you can see/copy the output.)

Are you getting a gnome not responding popup as described in https://netbrain.github.io/zwift/troubleshooting/gnome-not-responding/? Or is it something else?

Yes, that all makes a lot of sense. But if the dockerfile has changed, we have no choice but to rebuild, no? Or would it be enough to create a new workflow that runs when the dockerfile has changed and does a docker pull and docker build and nothing else? Adding the push shown below will only run the workflow after a push to master if the dockerfile has changed. So not every push.

Adding the paths-ignore below to the updater workflow would prevent it from running when the dockerfile has changed. So it would make the two workflows mutually exclusive and avoid conflicts.
