cli enhancements (modes, input names)

it would be really helpful if the cli provided a way to push/pop/switch shortcut modes

it would also be convenient to be able to refer to devices (and maybe more) using similar match conditions to those available to the toml. at least specifically it would be nice to refer to them by name or syspath or something more consistent than their id

I've added json output in #830 which should allow you to do some of these things.

awesome thanks so much! I'll leave this open for now just cause the shortcut mode control through cli is still pretty important to me.
I also have a question about an error I'm getting. while trying to run cli commands to change device properties from a nested compositor (waywall) I'm getting this error
ERROR jay::tools::tool_client] Could not create a tool client: Could not connect to the compositor: No such file or directory (os error 2). specifically what I'm trying to run is jay input device 48 set-px-per-wheel-scroll 0 and I'm wondering if u could point me in the right direction. thanks!

Jay creates two sockets: wayland-1 and wayland-1.jay. WAYLAND_DISPLAY is set to wayland-1. When you use the CLI it sees WAYLAND_DISPLAY=wayland-1 and thereby knows to connect to wayland-1.jay.

The nested compositor creates its own socket wayland-2 and sets WAYLAND_DISPLAY to wayland-2. But there is no wayland-2.jay so you get the error message that the socket doesn't exist.

To work around this, you can use WAYLAND_DISPLAY=wayland-1 jay input .... The exact value you need to set WAYLAND_DISPLAY to might vary.
