Problem

When installing the Lenovo P16 through the LCU Client module, we end up with error code 10 and a generic Microsoft Display Adapter.

When checking the command line, the script it attempts to run is different from what is defined in the XML file for the NVIDIA package.

The script is trying to run this:
Arguments: /verysilent /DIR=C:\LenovoDrivers\n4ff505w\TMP (Seems like double backslash is removed automatically in Github)

However, when checking n4ff505w.xml in the directory, it points to:
Arguments: /verysilent /DIR=C:\LenovoDrivers\n4ff505w\TMP

So it seems that when running through the LCU Client, it adds an extra backslash to the command line. When we uninstall the driver via Device Manager, Windows finds the correct driver afterward. This suggests that the driver gets installed, but it cannot be initialized.

Any idea why Nvidia driver is not working on P16 anymore? It has been working on and off earlier but issue is consistent now, so something has changed.

If the nvidia driver is successfully installed but just not used, did you reboot after the install? My first thought is that this seems like a thing that might fix itself after a reboot?

Yes, we have done multiple reboots but issue is still persistant.
If we uninstall the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter then correct driver applies.

Dont know why the installation argument is different against the XML-file.
It feels like the drivers is not installed correctly during the installation.

The double-backslash is added by LSUClient. It is because Lenovo sometimes forgets a backslash in their XMLs so you would end up with an invalid path, but two consecutive backslashes are allowed so it is the easier and safer option to always add it.

I don't think this should impact the way the driver installs.

Can you skip the driver in your LSUClient script (e.g. | Where-Object Id -ne 'n4fnv27w' or similar) and then install it manually afterwards using the same arguments ( /verysilent /DIR=C:\LenovoDrivers\n4ff505w\TMP ) and see if it behaves any different than when LSUClient runs it?

Honestly though I think if it was working before then the only thing that could have changed is a new Windows Update or new NVIDIA driver release being wonky..

Added a function to check if the display adapter is Microsoft Basic or not.
