Webpage display widget

I'm trying to display text via a .txt or .html file through a webpage. The page is hosted through my Universities cluster computer. If i include "http://", it shows an error. If I don't include it, it doesnt show anything. It pulls up in browser just fine. Any explanations?

I converted the URL to a tiny URL through tinyURL.com and now it's working. Now I'm wondering, if i update the webpage each day, will the app, automatically "reload" the webpage?

I'm not involved with this project, but this sounds like weird behavior from your school's webserver since it's obviously responding to the app's request differently from how it responds to a browser. In the meantime, your tinyURL workaround should be fine. URL shorteners don't generally cache content, so updates to the destination page should be reflected when the app hits the shortened URL. Nice hack!

Unfortunately, the web module was a really quick-and-dirty hack - all it shows is the text it finds in the file. So if the file has html code, you will actually see the html code in the display output. That's what appears to be happening in your screenshot. It should probably be changed from a simple TextView to a webview (so that html content will display as if it was in a browser, with images and so forth) but I have not delved in to that yet...
