Median number is really misleading

median number on Dashboard is really misleading. It's showing 55ms, but I know avg response is around 350ms.

Are you sure that's an error?

The median might very well be 55ms, while the mean ("average") is 350ms. That means that the distribution of response times is skewed towards the low end.

One situation in which this can occur is if there is a huge outlier. What is the mean of [1,1,1,100]? It's about 25, while the median is 1. It's telling you something useful about how the numbers are distributed in the set.

@kg4lod Thanks for the feedback! I agree with you, which is why I like the perc50 and perc95 numbers so much. I do believe that the average number has some value for our customers too, and I think I'll definitely add that in too.
