Installing the extension in a fresh installation of VS2026 corrupts the installation, and VS2026 no longer functions. Repairing and then installing B&M 2022+ again works.

Love the extension and have been using it for years, so thank you for all of your hard work. 👍🏻

In my Windows 11 VM where I already had VS2022 installed with Bundler & Minifier 2022+, after installing VS2026, everything worked perfectly, including the extension. I guess this was the automatic import from VS2022.

In another Windows 11 VM where I did not have VS2022 installed, I started with a fresh install of VS2026. When I then installed Bundler & Minifier 2022+ from the Extension Manager, I got all kinds of errors after restarting VS2026. Unfortunately, I did not capture them.

After using Visual Studio Installer to repair my VS2026 installation, I once again installed Bundler & Minifer 2022+ from the Extension Manager. This time, everything works perfectly.

I'm not sure where to go from here.

Another note: after all of the above, I installed Bundler & Minifier 2022+ in VS2026 Insiders, and it worked fine on the first try.

I also had a similar issue.
I had VS 2022 installed already and the extension didn't import even though I asked for it when installing 2026.
The install took a long time and then when running visual studio 2026 I got multiple errors (these are the only one I screen shotted)

Uninstalling took equally as long, but made no difference. I also had to run a repair.

Hope you are able to fix this as I am a bit lost without this great tool!

Can you provide the relevant portion of the ActivityLog.xml? When I upgraded to 2026 from 2022, I also selected to install all extensions, but I didn't get any errors and I didn't have to repair Visual Studio.

Here is the full activity log as it’s full of errors.
I assume this is from when I started visual studio after the extension had attempted to install , although the same errors were given after the uninstall. This was not the update to vs 2026.
It appears to be full of access denieds? And appears to be duplicate key.
A restart did not fix the issue.
Unsure whether this may be partly caused by an internal proxy issue? But strange I’ve never had an issue before and it is similar to the above.

@jonsagara I'm not seeing anything related to BundlerMinifier in the Log file, did you get an error message identifying BunderMinifier as the cause?

No, my experience was similar to @bexy82: the installation took a really long time to complete (like, minutes), and I think the VSIX installer actually indicated success. However, when I tried to open VS for the first time after installing the extension, it threw tons of error dialogs like those shown above. VS had become completely unusable (the solution didn't even load), so that's why I opted for the repair.

Yes, exactly the same as @jonsagara . The extension installation said it was successful but visual studio was completely unusable afterwards.

@jonsagara @bexy82 I've tried a bunch of times with Windows 11 VM's and haven't been able to reproduce the issue yet, I'll keep trying, but may have to wait for more reports to try and find the commonality between them.

Are you both up and running with the extension for now?

The extension issue seemed to trigger a whole lot of issues within my development environment after the repair - I don't think they were directly related to the extension, possibly the repair, but it took me the best part of 3 days to get all my projects running properly again, so I am reluctant to try again!
