Uganda - Test connection of Pi device with physical Meter

This task is to connect the physical meter from current Uganda Pilot to OpenEMS edge site controller (Raspberry Pi).

• OpenEMS edge recognizes the device and we can see telemetry from meter and inverter.
• Local site connectivity only for this ticket.

Hey folks, we made some progress over the weekend. We managed to switch the meters to Modbus and now we are able to read and write to the meters registers using MBpoll.

For writing , we are able to change the modbus address, baudrate, comm protocol (change from the Chinese to modbus ), modbus config

For reading , we are able to read the following

voltage
current
power
power factor
frequency
cumulative import energy

Next steps; reading real data via openEMS edge, we were not able to get the simulators to run, we suspect that some of them are just broken and not maintained
