Abruptly closing programs can lead to lost progress when they are closed unexpectedly. In order to warn users that the program will soon close, on the first tick they may be closed, programs should be minimized instead.

On the other hand, if, on the third tick, the program is still open, the program should be killed rather than being asked to exit gracefully.
