WebRTC: Audio only/hide screen streaming

This is an extremely valuable app to easily stream WebRTC audio across devices so that bluetooth headphones etc. can be shared.

It would be great if a hide screen toggle or audio only stream mode were allowed!

I'm also trying to debug the stream dropping in the background on server and client, so if there is any related workaround for audio streaming that might be useful.

Not sure what you mean by "stream dropping in the background on server and client", but wait for next release with bug fixes. Hopefully within next two weeks.

I'll test more and open a ticket if needed when the new release is made, but for the client side I'm wondering whether notification triggers would prevent the stream from dropping in standby.

RTSP stream should not stop on device lock or screen standby. If it does, then there is something more happening there. Can be some device-specific restrictions to not allow to work in the background in general. Usually some Xiaomi, Oppo, and many others have some additional on top of standard Android system limitations and restrictions. And in that case, you should manually allow to work ScreenStream in the ground.

Ah, sorry by client I meant the receiver side (browser playing WebRTC). Even in fullscreen Android 10 seems to put Chrome and Firefox to sleep if the phone is locked/in standby.

Yet. That is expected behavour.

For video there is probably no use case for keeping the stream alive when the phone is in standby, however even video streaming sites implement media control notification for PIP video and background music/podcast listening.

If the serviceworker method discussed in the link works it would be useful to control and allow audio streams to continue playing when the device is locked.

Partly related however I also tested receiving WebRTC from the current version on Safari/Webkit and found the fullscreen/audio control icons to appear at the top of the page instead of bottom in Chrome/Firefox.

As a result, they overlap with the Stream id/Leave stream popup, leaving a very small window of time to press the icons after the popup fades and before the control icons disappear.
