Bug Description
Bug Report: Block Entities Render Above Camera and Follow Camera Movement When Using Valkyrien Skies + Sodium + Litematica + Indium (1.20.1)
Dear Minecraft Mod Developers and Support Team,
I am writing to report a rendering bug that occurs when using four specific mods together in Minecraft 1.20.1. The issue affects the rendering of block entities, causing significant visual glitches that disrupt gameplay.
Basic Information
-
Minecraft Version: 1.20.1
-
Mod Loader: Fabric (latest compatible version for 1.20.1)
-
Affected Mods (all latest compatible versions for 1.20.1):
-
Valkyrien Skies
-
Sodium
-
Litematica
-
Indium
-
-
System Information: No hardware-related issues; the bug is reproducible on multiple devices with different specifications.
Bug Description
When the four aforementioned mods are installed and enabled simultaneously, block entities (specifically container and functional blocks) fail to render in their correct in-game positions. Instead, these block entities renderdirectly above the game camera and follow all camera movements (e.g., turning, looking up/down, moving the player). This creates a persistent visual glitch that makes it impossible to interact with the affected blocks normally and severely impacts the overall gameplay experience.
Affected block entities include, but are not limited to:
-
Chests (all types)
-
Ender Chests
-
Beds (all colors)
-
Doors (wooden and iron, both open and closed states)
-
Other container/functional block entities (e.g., furnaces, crafting tables) may also be affected, but the above are the most consistently problematic.
Steps to Reproduce
-
Install Minecraft 1.20.1 with the latest compatible Fabric loader.
-
Install the latest versions of Valkyrien Skies, Sodium, Litematica, and Indium (all compatible with 1.20.1 and Fabric).
-
Launch Minecraft and create a new single-player world (or load an existing one).
-
Place any of the affected block entities (e.g., a chest, bed, or door) in the world.
-
Observe the block entity: it will not render in its placed position, but instead will appear floating above the camera.
-
Move the camera (turn left/right, look up/down) – the glitched block entity will move in sync with the camera, remaining above it at all times.
Additional Notes
-
The bug only occurs when all four mods are enabled together. Disabling any one of the four mods resolves the rendering issue, and block entities render correctly in their intended positions.
-
I have tested this issue with no other mods installed (only the four listed above) to rule out conflicts with other modifications, and the bug persists consistently.
-
This issue appears similar to existing rendering conflicts between Valkyrien Skies, Litematica, and Sodium reported in previous mod versions, but this specific combination with Indium and Minecraft 1.20.1 has not been documented in detail.
-
No error messages appear in the game log or console when the bug occurs; the issue is purely visual.
Expected Behavior
Block entities should render in their correct placed positions in the world, independent of camera movement, when using the four mods together – consistent with their behavior when any one of the mods is disabled.
I hope this report helps identify and resolve the conflict between these mods. Please let me know if any additional information, such as mod version numbers or screenshots/videos of the bug, is needed to assist with troubleshooting.
Thank you for your hard work in maintaining and improving these mods.
Sincerely,
A Minecraft Player
