that list was compiled pre-GHC20XX, which likely allows some much simpler suggestions. we should of course keep the full list as long as we support older versions, but e.g. Stackage LTS 24.28 is on GHC 9.10.3: if GHC2024 is a clean recommendation for us, it's worth saying so. and if it's not, arguably moreso.
