Support for multipart forms?

Hello,

I've been using this library for a new Rails/Inertia/React project and it has been amazing!

I was wondering if there was a plan to support multipart forms that include file uploads? I'd be happy to help out if this is of interest 🙂

Hi @WilHall , I would love for this to support file uploads. I don't have the bandwidth at the moment to put much time into it, but I would welcome a PR.

@aviemet I'm also a bit busy at the moment, but I'm utilizing this library for a side project and I need file uploads, so I'll plan to put up a PR once I implement that 🙂

You still should be able to make multipart requests using this library, its just that it doesnt provide nice components yet.

Here's snippets from an uploader I built that uses react dropzone. It just takes the inertia form from the context and sets the data on it directly. It works just fine.

  const { form, error } = useInertiaInput({ name, model })

.... other code...
  
  const onDrop = useCallback((acceptedFiles: File[]) => {
          form.setData(name, file)

.... rest of the component...
}

Then in your form:
