I see what you mean. But the narrow display does start to make sense when there are multiple stacks. Here's a short video that demonstrates:

Your suggestion gives me an idea though: when there are only 1 or 2 stacks, I could just make them bigger. It's not perfect, but it might be a reasonable compromise for now.

Resizable (and re-orderable) would definitely be cool though. I'll look into it.

The problem is no matter how you display it: Having to scroll down AND sideways just is ugly and annoying. And thanks to Perl module names you basically will ALWAYS have a sideways scrollbar.

So, ONE way could be a wider view in general (you really want to see at least "the module" and version at a glance without scrolling) and arrange the stacks two next to each other at most, but shorten the list length when having e.g. 10 stacks.

So the more stacks you display, the shorter they get - let's say "10 modulenames" shortest.

The stack view kind of not just serves as a "management", behavioral widget but also as an informational view on your modules per stack.

Generally, one could get away with a rather narrow column-oriented visual IF the test within simply line breaks - which Module-Foo-Bar-Barz-Blubb-Lalalalala-1.047.tar.gz just doesn't do.
