Ctrl/Alt/Super/Mod/etc are modifiers, but why can't any key be used as a modifier?
For example, I typically like to rebind capslock to a key like F13, and then use F13+key for special keybinds (F13 becoming effectively a modifier). Generically, being able to either use any key combination (rather than mods+one non-mod key) or promote a key to being allowed/treated as a modifier would make much more flexible bindings possible.
