Font alignment when using inline code tags

When using inline code tags, the HTML rendering looks nice:

but in the PDF rendering, the text surrounded by the code tags appears to be offset higher than the surrounding text:

Is there a way to ensure the PDF rendering looks as good as the HTML rendering?
