[Places] New taxonomy / categories of the Places theme?

Where can I find the new places taxonomy?

I don't see any updates in the official schema documentation here https://docs.overturemaps.org/schema/reference/places/place/ which points to this list "overture_categories.csv"

stay tuned, 📺 we have tentative plans to launch the new taxonomy in the December release.

I too am looking for a source of truth for the new Taxonomy, as we use a number of terms for symbology from what was previously class and subtype and we need to know where to extract them from now the schema has been altered.

We added the basic_category property in our October 2025 release and the taxonomy property in our December 2025 release. These new properties will exist alongside the original categories property for several months.
