euro_Office: A fully FOSS fork of ONLYOFFICE

We're building euro_Office, a fork of ONLYOFFICE that addresses the "FOSS but not really" issues. All development has moved to Codeberg — a non-profit, self-hosted Forgejo platform.

Why Codeberg?

GitHub's recent changes have made it increasingly difficult to trust as a home for open-source development:

• Copilot trained on user data without meaningful consent — GitHub now uses prompts, code suggestions, comments, file names, and navigation patterns to train their models, with only a global opt-out (not per-repo). • Corporate control over developer tools — increasingly hostile to the FOSS community that built GitHub

Codeberg is run by Codeberg e.V., a German non-profit association. No ads, no AI training on your code, no corporate overlord.

What Euro-Office fixes

1. Mobile editing restored — ONLYOFFICE disabled mobile web editing in Community Edition v5.5.0. We've removed the restriction (see euro_Office/web-apps issue Text: Warning #1).
2. LICENSE cleaned up — Removed the confusing Ascensio "freeware" dual-license from DesktopEditors, now pure AGPLv3 (see euro_Office/DesktopEditors issue Text: Warning #1).
3. Android build documented — Identified all missing proprietary components preventing FOSS-compliant Android builds (see euro_Office/documents-app-android issue Text: Warning #1).
