"Don't look in subdirectories" option

Describe the idea you'd like for Amethyst to have
I feel like if there's the option for Amethyst to ignore subdirectories, or just specific directories to ignore, it would be a lot easier to make projects while listening to music without random sound effects (e.g. if i'm working on a project and i put a bunch of sound effects in a subfolder in the main music folder in amethyst, it won't add these items to the queue)

I agree, it's a practical setting to have.

Follow-Up question, a global setting for all media source folders or one for each to turn sub directory search off for specific folders? Or both?

What about using ignore patterns (using Regular Expression)?
For example you have your Music folder and in there you want to ignore any folder beginning with a dot, you can add a pattern like ..* or any folder related to your Project(s).

Or would you like to have something like a .amethystignore file in your sub directories and Amethyst ignores this folder containing the file and it's sub directories?

I reckon a file with a list of locations might be a bit inconvenient

I also feel like it should probably be directory specific, although global might be easier to implement
I think the simplest option would just be ignore all subdirectories until you add them as a media library
Treat all directories as not added unless you choose to have that feature off.

Although, adding onto this. A list of locations might be better too because then people can make modifications if Amethyst limits them from adding folders to it

A .amethystignore file would have little to no use, was just an idea.

I think a global option would be great, but with possible per-folder overwrites.

Straight up disabling recursive search would be too limiting.
For example, if you have like 20 sub directories in Music, having to add them each individually would be painful, especially if each has a sub directory as well.

So I think it's best to have both a global option, and for each folder you can override the global setting and disable recursive sub directory search.
Both are relatively easy to implement, either use the global setting for each folder or when searching through an added folder you respect the setting for it.
