There is now a CM4 -> CM3 carrier board on Amazon. Will it work with Slice?

Hi,

I was excited to see this on Amazon.

Would it "just work", or would tweaks to the software be necessary? It would breathe new life into a wonderful product!

Please help! I hate to see my beautiful slice as a door stop, but with the existence of HEVC/x265 it is no use to me.

I'm interested to know the answer - I thought that I might have to slip in a Pi4 ZeroW to get it useful again but was happily using a Pi4 with the Slice back in its box, ready for when I had time to fiddle.

The CM4 has fewer IO lines than the CM3 - so we'd need to confirm that missing IO lines wouldn't be an issue...

Q1: Which GPIO can be used after use the CM4 to CM3 Adapter?
A: CM3 has 46 GPIOs, ranging from GPIO0~GPIO45; while CM4 has only 28 GPIOs, ranging from GPIO0~GPIO27; so if you want to use CM4 to replace CM3, GPIO can only use GPIO0~GPIO27, because CM4 has only 28 GPIO, please refer to the datasheet of CM4 and CM3, thanks!

Not sure what you meant - are you actually using the slice with a Pi4, or did you mean the slice was back in the box it shipped it?
