Ruff and Mypy

I had a formatting problem when creating a PR.
If you are interested, I can open a new PR to add ruff formatting and mypy checks.

It would look a bit like this:

The advantage of integrating such tools in the CI would be to have unified formatting conventions and increase of code readability.
(comes handy in case you plan some refactoring in the future)
